Robert Owens
"Love Will Find It´s Way"
"If
God could sing, he would sound like Robert Owen" (I.D.)
Robert Owens first
DJed within Chicago´s developing house scene in the mid 80´s,
gaining notoriety by singing on a number of underground club tracks, and
establishing a reputation as a man whose lyrics and iintensely emotional
vocals could breathe life and soul into house music. At just 20, Robert
with partner Larry Heard was signed to Jack Trax as Fingers Inc. and the
pair released a succession of tracks that even today remain dancefloor
classics (including "Mystery Of Love", "Never No More Lonely",
"Can You Feel It" and it´s very limited edition with vocal,
and "The path" showcasing Robert´s beautiful gospel church-honed
vocals and heartfelt lyrical style.

Robert has stayed
true to his club roots pursuing two separate yet obviously connected paths:
firstly as an innovative and much in demand DJ, playing all over the world,
spinning and singing live from the DJ booth across the UK, Europe, Japan
and America. Secondly, as a solo artist composing lyrics and singing on
a series of tracks that are dancefloor classics. These include the seminal
"Tears" (1988 and re-released 1999), Billboard Dance Sales No.
1 "I´ll Be Your Friend" which propelled Robert into the
mainstream and 1996´s "Ordinary People" (released on Robert´s
own MUSICAL DIRECTIONS, the only independently released 12" to feature
in Muzik Magazine´s Top 10 tracks of 1996). He also collaborated
in 1998 with Mr C- "A Thing Called Love" (No. 3-Cool Cuts -

I´ll Love You
KBMR 002
"Love Will Find It´s Way" is the essential collection
of Robert Owens. Spanning two decades it defines the different periods
and styles from 1986´s seminal "Bring Down The Walls"
right up to his 2001 collaboration with Photek on the David Morales mix
of "Mine To Give". This album is the quintessential Robert Owens,
raw and uncut.
As an early
visionary and musical pioneer, Robert with partner Larry Heard (as Fingers
Inc.) released a succession of tracks that even today are hailed as dancefloor
classics (including "Can You Feel It" "Bring Down The Walls"
and "Never No More Lonely"). Robert left Chicago for London,
where the first "Summer Of Love" was exploding, and then relocated
to New York where he joined Def Mix (Frankie Knuckles & David Morales
stable) to record the anthems "Tears" and "I´ll Be
Your Frien". Inspiring and influential, Robert returned to England
to launch his own Musical Directions label in the 90´s, immediately
notching up the classics "Was I Here Before" (recorded with
original Chicago House pioneers Adonis, Chip E and Farley Jackmaster Funk)
and "Ordinary People" remixed by Junior Boys Own producers Farley
& Heller.
Robert is currently
one of the most in demand vocalists in house music, collaborating recently
with Photek (Science/Virgin), Mr C (End Recordings), Satoshi Tomiie (INCredible/Sony),
Victor Simonelli (Stellar), Block 16 (Nuphonic) and Layo & Bushwacka
(End Recordings). He has stayed true to his club roots as an innovative
and in demand DJ, playing all over the world, spinning and singing live
from the booth across the UK, Europe, Japan and America.
With 4 exclusive
new tracks included on this album, alongside the seminal House classics
such as "Tears" and "I´ll Be Your Friend" this
is an incredible 25 track journey from house music´s leading vocalist.
